Nerd Spotlight: Robert Wallace (aka Office Magician)
This marks the half-way point of my non-scientific research study to identify the most revered nerds of the HB Design office. This is the third post in the series (read the previous post here) and this week’s response is from Robert (commonly known as Bob) Wallace. He’s our director of all things technology related. He’s also quite the magician. No, I’m not being a brown-noser or overly complimentary, the man’s really a magician! Ask him about his match trick sometime.

Noel Henneman, Lead Interactive Designer
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Noel a couple of weeks ago and chatting about design and the path it has taken him in his life. I enjoy working with Noel. He has such a calm demeanor as well as a knack for figuring out the mystery behind why some things are the way they are as well as why they work versus not working. If you have ever met Noel, you know that his quiet, go-happy ways should not fool you, for there is an interesting layer behind that. I am excited to tell you about our conversation.

Nerd Spotlight: Anita Wente (aka Jean-Luc Picard’s Main Squeeze?)
To show my appreciation for the high nerd population in Portland and just to have a little fun I’ve been questioning my co-workers about their favorite nerds. The first post featured a response from our usability advisor, Diane Kenedy.
This week’s nerd spotlight is centered on Anita Wente. She’s an incredibly talented senior designer with a great sense of humor and the best home-made games. Any Pinewood Derby or Ladder Toss fans out there? She also happens to have a heart-framed picture of Captain Kirk beside her monitor. However, he may have some misgivings about her response to this question.
