Crafting 404 pages

As a follow up to my earlier post on Entertaining Error Messages, I’d like to offer this article from Smashing Magazine. It’s a thoughtful explanation that looks at preventing the “page not found” error in the first place as well as some tips on making the event a better user experience.

Remember that humor must be used carefully—not being able to find content can be frustrating. Don’t blame your visitor, even if you mean it as a joke!
