Women around the globe are committed to making their lives, their families, and their communities better. Yet, access to a quality education is still unattainable for an estimated 66 million girls. They live in societies where access to education for a girl is not possible. Married off too young, abused, and isolated, they are often powerless and without voice.

As a nationally certified women-owned business by WBENC, HB Design joins others in spreading the word about the global inequity in female education by sponsoring a screening of the feature film “Girl Rising” on January 29th. We believe that, if girls around the world had better access to a quality education, the world would change for the better. When girls are educated, societies are transformed. Educated girls not only better the lives of others in their communities, they also are excellent role models for their children, seek leadership roles in business and politics, have a better chance of pulling out of poverty, use technology and the Internet to reach beyond their world, and are less likely to accept extreme religious fundamentalism that are the root of terrorism today.
