Nerd Spotlight: Anita Wente (aka Jean-Luc Picard’s Main Squeeze?)
To show my appreciation for the high nerd population in Portland and just to have a little fun I’ve been questioning my co-workers about their favorite nerds. The first post featured a response from our usability advisor, Diane Kenedy.
This week’s nerd spotlight is centered on Anita Wente. She’s an incredibly talented senior designer with a great sense of humor and the best home-made games. Any Pinewood Derby or Ladder Toss fans out there? She also happens to have a heart-framed picture of Captain Kirk beside her monitor. However, he may have some misgivings about her response to this question.
Question: Who is your favorite famous nerd (real or fictional) and why?
Answer: “The ultimate space nerd, Jean-Luc Picard. He’s nerdy, yet…somehow attractive to all. He enjoys Earl Grey tea and collecting model ships while maintaining the position of the most powerful individual in Starfleet. Plus he plays a mean Detective Dixon Hill.”
Shhhhh…don’t tell Kirk.
