In my last post, I talked about the idea of C2CB presentation tools. For those who ask “what is C2CB” and don’t want to take the time to do a little hunting, I’ll fill you in.
Client to Client’s Boss communication. Internal selling of ideas to other team members. If you didn’t read it, it’s a good one, check it out. If you did, you know what I’m talking about.
The first project I’d like to share is an infographic that was actually used to convince our client of an idea, which she passed through to her team for buy off.
We were working on an online promotion for our client that was completely dependent on social media for exposure. We needed to sell our client on the power of her existing social media opportunities and to use these opportunities to promote the campaign. The reach of our idea was much greater than the client’s original path for promotion—but it required a bit more work for her. We tried a thousand times (am I exaggerating?) to describe, in words, the massive affect of our idea, but we just couldn’t verbally convince her. We felt it was an important strategic component to the success of the promotion, so I created an infographic to demonstrate the idea.
The first frame shows the reach to her audience through her suggested social media avenues. The next reaches out to existing partners’ social media avenues and adds new social media resources specific to the promotion. The last, which would take the most work on her part, utilizes a huge existing social media avenue.
The infographic made it quite clear that the extra work to acquire space within all of these social media avenues would increase the reach of the promotion by millions, and our client took the extra time to secure these avenues.
Sometimes, often, a picture is worth a thousand words.
